Frank Williams
Chief Executive Officer
Frank Williams serves as Chief Executive Officer of Evolent Health. Evolent works with leading health systems to achieve superior clinical and financial results through value-based care transformation. The company employs over 850 professionals across its corporate and client locations in 25 markets nationwide. Backed by capital, asset and intellectual property contributions from UPMC Health Plan and The Advisory Board Company, Evolent completed an initial public offering in June of 2015. Prior to Evolent, Frank served as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of The Advisory Board Company, a global research, technology, and consulting firm that serves over 4,100 leading organizations across health care and higher education. During Frank's tenure as both its Chairman and CEO, The Advisory Board completed an initial public offering and grew to $450M+ in annual revenues with over 2,500 employees and $2B+ in market capitalization. Frank previously served as the President of MedAmerica OnCall, the President of Vivra Orthopedics and as a Consultant for Bain & Co. Frank currently sits on the boards of Peer Health Exchange and Head-Royce School. A native Californian, Frank received a BA with High Honors in Political Economies of Industrial Societies from the University of California, Berkeley and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Seth Blackley
President
Seth oversees overall company strategy, product design, sales, marketing and business development for Evolent Health. Prior to Evolent Health, Seth was the Executive Director of Corporate Development and Strategic Planning at The Advisory Board Company, where he oversaw partnerships and acquisitions, key elements of new product development and other strategic growth initiatives. Prior to joining The Advisory Board, Seth was an Associate at Bain Capital Partners, where he helped execute the 2006 buyout of Hospital Corporation of America (HCA). Seth started his career as an analyst in the Washington, D.C. office of McKinsey & Company. He earned a BS from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he graduated with Highest Honors, and his MBA from the Harvard Business School.
Tom Peterson III
Chief Operating Officer
Tom leads operations for Evolent Health. Tom brings a blend of valuable experience to Evolent, having run growth businesses, built organizations, developed senior leaders and undergone clinical training as a psychotherapist. In the course of his 20-year career, he has seen several businesses in the consulting, business services and technology sectors through periods of significant growth. He has held executive roles with The Advisory Board Company, leading the company’s consulting division and overseeing operations for the Advisory Board’s business intelligence division. Tom also served as General Manager for Network Services, a management services organization within HealthSouth Corporation responsible for managing the contracting, utilization management, claims and network for risk-based and workers’ compensation contracts for HealthSouth. In addition, he served as the Vice President of Managed Care and Payer Relationships for HealthSouth Corporation in the Southeast. Tom earned a BA in Government from Harvard and an MA in Mental Health Counseling from George Washington University.
Nicholas McGrane
Chief Financial Officer
Nicky McGrane serves as Chief Financial Officer of Evolent Health. Nicky has a deep background in finance with over twenty-five experience across banking, private equity and operations. Prior to joining Evolent, Nicky spent fifteen years at MidOcean Partners, a middle market private equity firm. During his time at MidOcean he also served as interim CEO of portfolio company, Sbarro where he led the Company through a financial and operational restructuring. Prior to joining MidOcean, Nicky worked as a consultant at Bain & Company and in investment banking at Kidder, Peabody. Nicky is an Irish native and earned his undergraduate degree at Trinity College Dublin and received an MBA from Harvard Business School where he graduated as a Baker Scholar.
Seth Frazier
Chief Transformation Officer
Seth leads Evolent Health’s transformation practice and contributes to the clinical innovation strategy. He most recently served as the Chief Transformation Officer for the Geisinger Health System prior to joining Evolent. His responsibilities included providing business leadership to large-scale innovation projects within the health system (e.g., Geisinger Accelerated Performance Program) and external consulting for Geisinger Ventures. Prior to Geisinger, Seth was Senior Vice President, Strategic Services for The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). Seth led CHOP’s proton therapy development initiative, national contracting for tertiary services and strategic plan development and management. Before assuming the strategic services role, Seth had executive responsibilities for CHOP-affiliated Children’s Health Net, a pediatric managed care organization that developed and managed a globally capitated 100+ PCP network under contract with the dominant regional HMO. Seth came to CHOP after a 9-year consulting career with a large national health care firm. His practice areas included clinical resource management, managed care, service line strategy, hospital redesign and strategy.
Chad Pomeroy
Chief Technology Officer
Chad leads Evolent Health’s information technology group and joins Evolent from Access Mediquip, where he was responsible for strategy and technology. He previously spent five years at WellPoint, where he was responsible for consumer innovation for the nation’s largest health benefits company. Under his direction, the innovation team demonstrated a capacity to create, test and bring new ideas to market quickly. Before leading the innovation team, Chad was Chief Technology Officer for Lumenos, one of the pioneers of consumer-driven health plans. His responsibilities included strategic direction of Lumenos’ award-winning online health site for consumers to manage their health and health expenses, a proprietary claims payment solution designed specifically for health reimbursement accounts and health savings accounts and a centralized data warehouse. Chad previously worked for Congressional Quarterly, Inc., and was also Assistant Vice President of Information Technology at the National Committee for Quality Assurance.
Lydia Stone
Principal Accounting Officer
Lydia leads the controllership organization with responsibility for all of Evolent Health’s accounting, external reporting, tax and financial systems and controls. Prior to joining Evolent, Lydia held a number of accounting and leadership positions at various public companies, with her most recent position with BAE Systems where she lead companywide accounting and finance integration initiatives. Prior to joining BAE, Lydia served over 6 years in the assurance practice at Ernst & Young where she gained in-depth experience in complex transactions across health care, real estate, banking and mutual fund investment companies. Lydia received her Master’s degree in Accounting from the College of William & Mary. Lydia is a Certified Public Accountant in Virginia and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Dave Thornton
Chief Talent Officer
Dave oversees the recruitment, development and engagement of all Evolent Health employees. Dave is responsible for establishing the company’s talent foundation and building programs that foster and grow the Evolent culture. Prior to joining Evolent, Dave held a variety of HR executive positions at AOL, Inc. including both line HR and Center of Excellence roles, most recently as the company’s VP of Talent Management. Dave began his career working with Fortune 500 clients as an organizational development consultant at HumanR, Inc. He received his Master’s degree in industrial-organizational psychology from George Mason University.
Jonathan Weinberg
General Counsel
Jonathan Weinberg serves as Evolent Health’s General Counsel and is the chief legal officer of the company. Prior to joining Evolent, Jonathan was a Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel for Coventry Health Care, Inc., where he supervised many of the operational functions of the Coventry legal department including mergers and acquisitions, federal and state regulatory issues, provider contracting, and Medicare and Medicaid issues. While at Coventry, Jonathan also was in charge of the risk management department. Prior to joining Coventry, Jonathan was an associate and then partner at Epstein Becker and Green, P.C. in the firm’s health care practice, specializing in managed care issues. Jonathan received his BA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his JD from the Catholic University of America.
Steve Wigginton
Chief Development Officer
Steve is responsible for strategy, marketing and health system partnership development for Evolent Health. Prior to joining Evolent, Steve served as the founding CEO of Medley Health, a venture-backed technology and services provider for physician practices. Previously, Steve was the President of Health Integrated, a leading provider of health management solutions that improves clinical outcomes and quality measures, resulting in lower health care costs. During his tenure at Health Integrated, the company launched award-winning care management programs targeting high-risk and chronically ill patients, driving revenue growth at a compound annual rate of 52%. Prior to Health Integrated, Steve was Executive Vice President of Neoforma (Nasdaq: NEOF, acquired by GHX), which provided transaction and analytics services to 1,500 hospitals and more than 300 top medical and pharmaceutical manufacturers and distributors. Steve joined Neoforma’s executive team after its acquisition of Pharos Technologies—a company he co-founded. Steve holds a BS in Finance from Indiana University and an MBA from the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University.

Michael D’Amato
Managing Partner, Sears Road Partners
Michael D’Amato has served as Managing Partner of Sears Road Partners LLC, a private investment company since June 2011. Prior to joining Sears Road Partners LLC, Mr. D’Amato served as Senior Advisor to Jeff Zients, the Federal Chief Performance Officer and Deputy Director for Management of the Office of Management and Budget from June 2009 to June 2011. From 2004 to 2009, he was a Founding Partner of Portfolio Logic LLC, an investment company focused on small-cap public and private companies, with particular emphasis on healthcare. From 1995 to 2004, he held various executive roles at The Advisory Board Company, including as Chief Financial Officer (1996-98), Executive Vice President (1998-2001) and Director (2001-2004). Prior to joining The Advisory Board Company, Mr. D’Amato held various roles at the management consulting firm Bain & Company, including Senior Partner, where he focused on strategy and organizational development. Mr. D’Amato received a B.S. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
David Farner
Executive Vice President, Chief Strategic and Transformation Officer, UPMC
David M. Farner is executive vice president and chief of staff in the Office of the President at UPMC. Mr. Farner works closely with CEO Jeffrey A. Romoff on UPMC strategic opportunities and initiatives and plays an active role in the executive direction of UPMC. Additionally, he assumes a leadership role in the federal reimbursement issues and UPMC payor contracting strategy. Prior to Mr. Farner’s current position, he served as the Interim Chief Financial Officer for the System, and has served in numerous financial leadership roles over his 20 plus years at UPMC. Mr. Farner’s professional career began at the UPMC in 1986 as a Financial Analyst for Presbyterian University Hospital prior to his position at Arthur Anderson & Company from 1985-1986 as a Staff Auditor.
Bruce Felt
Chief Financial Officer, Domo
Bruce Felt has served as chief financial officer of Domo, Inc. since August 2014. From July 2012 to June 2014, Mr. Felt served in various senior positions with Auction.com, LLC, most recently as chief financial officer. From October 2006 to July 2012, Mr. Felt served as the chief financial officer of SuccessFactors, Inc. until its acquisition by SAP. From February 2005 through August 2006, Mr. Felt served as chief financial officer of LANDesk Software, until its acquisition by Avocent Corp. Prior to that, Mr. Felt served as chief financial officer of Integral Development Corporation. Mr. Felt currently sits on the board of directors of Yodlee, Inc., Hightail Inc. and Alfresco Software, Inc. and has been a member of various non-profit boards. Mr. Felt holds a bachelor of science in accounting from the University of South Carolina and a master in business administration from Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
Matthew Hobart
Partner, TPG
Matt Hobart is a Partner with TPG, a global private investment firm with $55.3 billion of assets under management. He leads the Healthcare and Financial Services investments for TPG Growth, the middle market and growth equity investment fund of TPG. Matt is currently a board member of Northstar Anesthesia, iMDsoft, Greencross Limited. Previous board service includes The Vincraft Group, Schiff Nutrition International, Wil Research and Agraquest. Prior to joining TPG Growth in 2004, Mr. Hobart was the Vice President of Corporate Development for Critical Path, where he was part of a turnaround team that led Critical Path through a major financial and operational restructuring. Previously, Matt co-founded and served as a Managing Director of Vectis Group, a venture corporation that capitalized and built companies globally, in partnership with leading U.S. technology businesses. Prior to Vectis Group, Mr. Hobart made private equity investments in the US and Europe for the $2.2 billion Morgan Stanley Capital Partners III L.P. and helped raise and invest the $350 million Morgan Stanley Global Emerging Markets Fund. Matt holds an MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business and a BA from Miami University.
Diane Holder
President, UPMC Insurance Services Division; President And Chief Executive Officer, UPMC Health Plan
Diane P. Holder is an Executive Vice President of UPMC, President of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, President of the UPMC Insurance Services Division and President and CEO of UPMC Health Plan. UPMC is one of the nation’s leading integrated delivery systems and through its health plans and affiliates, provides health coverage and benefit management for over one million men, women and children in Pennsylvania. The Insurance Services Division includes the UPMC Health Plan, UPMC for You, Community Care Behavioral Health Organization and UPMC WorkPartners. These health benefits companies, located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, manage benefits for Commercial, Medicaid, Medicare, Behavioral Health, EAP, Health Promotions and Workers’ Compensation programs.
Michael Kirshbaum
Chief Financial Officer, The Advisory Board Company
Michael is the Chief Financial Officer of The Advisory Board Company. Michael joined The Advisory Board Company in 1998 and became the chief financial officer in February 2006 and treasurer in March 2007. Prior to his current role, Michael held a variety of positions across the finance group, most recently serving as senior director of finance, where he was responsible for most finance operations, including the overall financial strategy and budgeting process, as well as a number of other accounting functions. Michael has a B.S. degree in Economics from Duke University.
Norman Payson, MD
Dr. Payson has had a thirty year career as Chief Executive Officer and/or Chairman of multiple health care organizations including publicly traded companies, and has worked closely with private equity firms in the transformation of underperforming health care companies. He was co-founder and CEO of a 3 million member health plan (Healthsource, 1985-1997), the “turnaround CEO” of a $6 billion health plan (Oxford Health Plans, 1998-2002), chairman of the nation’s largest occupational health care company (Concentra, 2005-2008) and CEO of the largest home health care provider (Apria Healthcare, 2008-2012). Dr. Payson is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and received his MD at Dartmouth Medical School.
Kenneth Samet
President and CEO, MedStar Health
Kenneth A. Samet serves as MedStar Health President and Chief Executive Officer and provides strategic oversight and management for MedStar Health, the largest healthcare provider in Maryland and the Washington, D.C., region. From 2003 to 2008, Mr. Samet served as president and chief operating officer of MedStar Health, and was responsible for all aspects of system-wide operations. Prior to that, Mr. Samet served as the system’s first chief operating officer since MedStar’s inception in 1998. Mr. Samet has dedicated his career to health care. He received his master’s degree in health services administration from the University of Michigan in 1982. Mr. Samet served as president of MedStar Washington Hospital Center, one of the nation’s largest tertiary care hospitals, in the District of Columbia from 1990 to 2000. From the mid-1980s to 1990, Mr. Samet held a variety of leadership positions with the Medlantic Healthcare Group, which merged with Helix Health in 1998 to create MedStar Health. Samet is presently a member of several other boards in addition to Evolent’s.
Cheryl Scott
Main Principal, McClintock Scott Group
Cheryl Scott is currently the Main Principal at the McClintock Scott Group. Until she retired in July 2016, she was the Senior Advisor at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, providing strategy counsel and support. She joined the Foundation in 2006 as Chief Operating Officer, overseeing all major operational functions. Scott was previously president and CEO of the Seattle-based Group Health Cooperative. Her eight-year tenure as CEO capped a distinguished 25-year career with Group Health, which also included roles as the organization’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Scott received her bachelor’s degree in communications and master’s degree in health management from the University of Washington. She currently serves on a variety of private and not-for-profit boards. In 2005, the University of Washington and Group Health created the Cheryl M. Scott/Group Health Cooperative Professorship in Health Care Leadership in the School of Public Health. Scott is a frequent speaker at health policy forums and is also a clinical professor in the University of Washington Department of Health Services.
